Safe Records Management recognises that its day-to-day operations and products have both a positive and negative impact on the environment. SRM is fully committed to minimising the pollution and harmful effects of its actions and products wherever practicable. Our Environmental Policy sets out the methods we use to minimise waste, maximise use of resources and prevent pollution in all parts of the business. We are in the process of adopting an Environmental Change System (ISO 140001) Our Carbon Reduction Strategy has been produced to ensure we exceed government targets for long-term reductions in carbon emissions. Efforts to reduce our carbon footprint have included lighting efficiencies, vehicle re-routing and replacement and improved management systems to manage resources more efficiently.

Safe Records Management maintains a Sustainable Procurement Policy. We encourage all internal purchasers to review their consumption of goods and services, reduce usage where possible and develop business cases based on sustainable principles. We give preference to products and services that can be manufactured, used, and disposed of in an environmentally and socially responsible way. We also ensure that sustainability criteria are included in specifications to suppliers and form part of new/renewed contracts together with the whole life cost of a process.
Our Waste Management & Packaging Policy emphasizes reuse, risk minimisation and particularly recycling. Much of our waste can be recycled or elements reclaimed for future use. We also aim to purchase products made from, or including, recycled material
